What Rampe does

Rampe is a Shopify app that analyses an online store's accessibility against WCAG 2.1 level AA, proposes fixes and produces an accessibility declaration.

Data processed

With the merchant's permission, Rampe accesses the following store data:

• Published theme files — template code, stylesheets and colour settings, to detect accessibility issues.
• Product pages — title and attached media, to check for alternative text.
• Store information — Shopify domain name and an encrypted access token allowing the app to work.

Data Rampe does not process

Rampe neither requests nor receives any customer personal data: no identity, no address, no email, no order, no payment method. The permissions requested at install are limited to reading products and themes. Write access to media files is requested only when the merchant decides to apply a fix, and can be withdrawn at any time.

What is kept

• Audit results, timestamped.
• Applied fixes with their date — this log is the evidence of the merchant's compliance effort.
• The accessibility declarations produced.

This data is kept while the app is installed, then erased as described below.

Erasure

On uninstall, the session and the access token are deleted immediately. All store data — audits, findings, fixes and declarations — is erased when the shop/redact signal is received from Shopify, roughly 48 hours after uninstall, and in any case within the 30-day period set by regulation.

Rampe also answers customers/data_request and customers/redact. Holding no customer personal data, it has nothing to return and nothing to erase on that basis.

Recipients

Data is neither sold, rented nor passed to third parties for commercial purposes. It is hosted with the app's hosting provider and is accessible only to the people who operate it.

Rights

The merchant may at any time request access to their data, its rectification or its erasure, and withdraw the permissions granted from their store admin. Uninstalling the app triggers the erasure described above.
